Irish love

I found this at the hunger website:

The Claddagh design originates from an ancient Irish love story. A young fisherman was captured by pirates and sold into slavery, yet remained determined to return to his beloved in Ireland. While working many years for cruel slave masters in a goldsmith shop, he managed to accumulate tiny specks of gold. After years of dreaming, the young fisherman returned home to find that his love had remained faithful. Overcome with joy, he presented a gold ring which featured a heart symbolizing love, two hands symbolizing friendship, and a crown representing loyalty.
